Born From Our Own Struggles. Built in Surrender.

One of our founders had spent years struggling with chronic rejection, anxiety, and broken patterns that traced all the way back to childhood wounds, including his father leaving when he was a toddler. Despite knowing God’s truth intellectually, he often felt distant from it emotionally. Relationships suffered. Spiritual disciplines felt dry. He knew he was loved, but didn’t feel free.

At the urging of his therapist, he began using a simple process: notice the feeling, name the emotion, trace the thought, uncover the belief, and confront it with God’s truth. Then do that consistently, every day.

It changed everything. It didn’t all happen in a day, but one day, everything was different. Suddenly the fears weren’t as crippling. The belief that everyone would leave wasn’t as strong, and feelings of acceptance and love began to actually seep through the cracks.

When he shared that process with another founder, a businessman battling financial anxiety and wrestling with whether God would truly provide, the results were just as profound. The clarity, the healing, the peace that followed felt too helpful to keep to themselves.

Together, they began shaping the process into something others could use. Eventually, a third partner with a background in counseling and marketing joined to bring more clinical insight and broader accessibility. And with that, the current model of the Overcomers Journal was born.
